FAQs

What do you provide?

We want your stay to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible! When you arrive, you’ll find fresh, cozy beds made and plush towels ready for up to 14 guests. We provide the essentials to get you started, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, kitchen trash bags, and dish soap. If you're staying longer than a couple of days, you may need to restock some of these items.

Need extra comfort? We offer additional blankets and rollaway beds upon request to ensure everyone has a cozy place to sleep.

The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and baking, and includes pantry basics like coffee filters, salt & pepper, and a full spice rack. We also provide dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, hand soap for all sinks, and a new kitchen sponge.

Love to grill? Our gas grill comes with propane provided, and we try to keep an extra tank on hand just in case. For evenings by the outdoor fire pit, just bring your own firewood. Inside, enjoy the warmth of a beautiful indoor fireplace to keep things extra cozy.

For a little downtime, browse our library filled with books for all ages, or have some fun with board games and cards tucked inside the coffee table—perfect for game nights by the fire.

We’ve thought of everything so you can relax and enjoy your stay!

What should I bring?

To make your stay as smooth as possible, we recommend bringing enough food for dinner on your arrival day and breakfast the next morning—or take advantage of the great local restaurants and cafés nearby!

If you plan to use the hot tub, we provide beach towels for your convenience.

For entertainment, we have smart TVs in the main living area and both game rooms. If you'd like to play video games, bring your console—we provide HDMI cables for easy setup. You’re also welcome to bring your own streaming device (Roku, Fire TV, etc.), though our smart TVs already have built-in streaming apps.

Since you're in the woods, we suggest bringing mosquito spray—just in case! (It’s usually not needed in the winter months.)

Traveling with little ones? Please bring anything you need to make their stay comfortable. We provide a high chair and playpen, but other baby essentials should be packed as needed.

Can I do laundry?

Absolutely! We have a full-size washer and dryer on the main level for your convenience. 😊

What items are not included in the kitchen?

Our kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and baking, and we provide a selection of spices. Items like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and parchment paper are stocked when we visit the cabin, and previous guests often leave them behind. However, we can’t guarantee they will be available when you arrive, so please plan accordingly if you need them for your cooking.

Do you provide daily housekeeping?

Unlike hotels, private home rentals typically offer housekeeping between guest stays rather than daily service. However, we provide a washer, dryer, and dishwasher for your convenience during your stay.

If you think you’ll need additional housekeeping, please let us know in advance so we can discuss availability and pricing.

Our goal is to ensure your vacation is perfect from start to finish!

What should I do if there’s an issue with the cabin during my stay?

We want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible, and sometimes, just like in any home, unexpected things can come up. If something isn’t quite right with the cabin, please feel free to call or text us right away. We’re here to help and will do our best to resolve any issue quickly so you can get back to relaxing! 😊

Do you have insects?

Our cabin is professionally treated for pests every month by a trusted pest control service. However, since we’re nestled in the woods, critters do occasionally make their way inside, no matter what we do. Different seasons bring different insects— for example, carpenter bees are common in the spring.

Outside, you may encounter flies around the woods and ticks, especially during warmer months. We recommend using appropriate mosquito and insect repellent when venturing into the woods.

While we strive to keep the cabin as bug-free as possible, you may occasionally spot a few insects or small critters typical of the area. If you encounter any issues during your stay, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’d be happy to have our pest control team come out to help and ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible!

Are there wild animals?

Since our cabin is nestled in the woods, wild animals are part of the surrounding area. You may come across deer, squirrels, raccoons, and snakes. On rare occasions, black bears may also be spotted nearby.

While it’s exciting to see wildlife, we encourage you to keep a safe distance and never feed any animals. To keep both you and the animals safe, please securely store food and trash to avoid attracting them to the cabin.

If you have any concerns during your stay or need more information about wildlife safety, feel free to reach out—we’re here to help!

What type of cell phone reception should I expect?

Since the cabin is located in a wooded area, cell phone reception can vary depending on your carrier. Generally, AT&T and Verizon offer better coverage in rural areas, and 4G signal is available for most carriers. However, other carriers may experience weaker signal strength.

If you have any reception issues, we recommend using Wi-Fi calling (if available) to improve communication. The Wi-Fi modem is located in the basement, so you might find better signal strength in that area. Some other parts of the cabin or property may also offer stronger signals, so it’s worth exploring to find the best spot.

If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to offer tips or assistance! 😊

What is your wi-fi like?

We have strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house and garage area. Additionally, in case of severe weather or internet outages, we have a backup hotspot to ensure you stay connected.

Let us know if you have any specific needs or concerns—we’re happy to help!

May I smoke or vape at the cabin?

For the comfort and safety of all guests, the cabin and surrounding property are smoke-free and vape-free. We kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping the space enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and safe environment!

Is there a backup generator in case of a power outage?

Currently, there is no backup generator available at the cabin. However, we are exploring different options and will update our records once a solution is in place. In the event of a power outage, please contact Blue Ridge EMC for assistance.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you updated with any changes! 😊

What type of water is supplied to the house?

The cabin is supplied with well water, which is filtered through a carbon filter to ensure clean and safe drinking water.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Are there any outdoor activities or amenities?

Do you provide firewood for the fireplace or fire pit?

We do not provide firewood, so you’ll need to bring your own for the fireplace or fire pit. Please let us know if you need any tips on where to purchase it locally!

Are there any special rules or policies for the cabin?

We just have a few simple requests to help ensure everyone enjoys their stay: no smoking, please be mindful of quiet hours (especially at night), and we ask that you take off your shoes inside to help keep the cabin clean for all guests.
